Words and deeds don't match, or we have a skewed view of ourselves. However, we can be forgiven our sins, even that of hypocrisy.

I had a friend once, who said that churches were a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints.

But, if we become aware of the sin and repent, and still persist in the sin, how genuine is the repentance? And how genuine is the Christianity?mmritehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13490064359972015063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5355696272577975534.post-90485769138429634062009-09-21T17:19:36.459-04:002009-09-21T17:19:36.459-04:00mmrite said...

I'll have to read more of the topics when I have more time.

September 18, 2009 5:20 PM
I am reposting the comment - ckCarolynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01781978748830591130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5355696272577975534.post-18696226508340192822009-09-06T12:14:43.152-04:002009-09-06T12:14:43.152-04:00Thank you for the info on this web site. So far, I've only had a brief look, but whether or not one wants to submit a devotion, it seems a good place to explore the thoughts of others. I'm looking forward to it.mmritehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13490064359972015063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5355696272577975534.post-80502097562778925092009-08-25T12:57:02.793-04:002009-08-25T12:57:02.793-04:00Don't berate yourself too much. A Bible verse that has always been helpful to me is, "Be still and know that I am God." Sometimes to endure the unendurable, or what seems to be unendurable, is a difficult thing, and sometimes it seems to be impossible. May God grant you strength, and I pray for an easing of whatever pressures you find yourself dealing with. On another note about losing joy when things go wrong, I believe it is a normal human reaction. How long does the lost joy last? Moments, an hour, a day? As I said to the church secretary when she said that God must have been with me when I was unhurt in a bad accident [to my car at least}, "God would have been with me just the same, even if I had been injured." And as I said to a great-grandson a couple of years ago, "You cannot be, where God is not." He is there, when things are right; He is there when things are wrong, extending His hand," waiting for your Carolyn smile.mmritehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13490064359972015063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5355696272577975534.post-88551684779576589622009-08-17T18:30:01.287-04:002009-08-17T18:30:01.287-04:00An excellent discourse.
